    Answer: Reports will normally be returned between 2 - 4 hours after claims submission. Producing reports is dependent on the total volume of claims received and can fluctuate greatly. 15. How do I get my password unsuspended when I’m trying to transmit claims? How do I keep from getting it suspended?

    Answer:
    Unfortunately, once you have suspended your password you must contact the EMS Help Desk to have it unsuspended. The Help Desk will need to know your name and your trading partner number to unsuspend your password.

    To avoid password suspensions in the future, we offer the following suggestions.
    1. Reminder: Passwords get suspended after the third unsuccessful attempt.
    2. Passwords on our system are case sensitive. This means that the system can differentiate between upper and lower case. Please check your Caps Lock key when typing in your password.
    3. There is only one password per trading partner. Remember to share your password with others in your office that may need it.

      Effective 12/04/2005, password requirements on the EDI System will change. Anyone changing their password after 12/04/2005 needs to insure that their password meets the following requirements:
    4. Must be eight (8) characters in length, no longer or shorter
    5. Must include both alpha and numeric characters
    6. Can’t be reused for at least six (6) generations
    7. Must be changed every 60 days

      Special characters may be used in your password but are not required. If you choose to use special characters in your password, the following is a list of valid characters to use.
      * :~; \ @ # $ % ^ & ( ) _ - + = { } [ ] | ‘ < > , . ? / `
      We encourage you to make your passwords as strong as possible.

  1. How long do provider numbers stay on the security file?

    Answer
    :  In an effort to keep this file up to date, provider numbers with no activity for at least six months will be removed from a trading partner number.  Once removed from a trading partner number, the EDI Enrollment form will need to be completed to re-add this number.
