835 NPI Update

Effective April 15, 2008 HealthNow New York will begin including NPI on 835 electronic remittances for both the Payee (loop 1000B) and Service Provider (loop 2100).  The legacy (12 digit) provider number will continue to be sent as a secondary provider ID for both the Payee and Service Provider loops.  The Legacy Payee ID will also continue to be sent in the Provider Level Adjustment (PLB) loop.  All legacy provider ID's will be removed from the 835 by the NPI mandate date of 5/23/2008.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change please contact Robert Lane at 716-887-8722.
