General Announcements:
- Trading partners are encourage not to submit an electronic transaction with out first validating with the payer they are submitting to will accept the NPI.
- Reminder to everyone of the CMS statement that was added to the NPI timeline posted on the Medicare web site:
*Medicare strongly recommends that providers, clearinghouses, and billing services continue to submit the Medicare legacy identifier as a secondary identifier. http://www.cms.hhs.gov/MLNMattersArticles/downloads/MM4023.pdf
System Updates:
- The next system deployment is scheduled for Sunday, January 02, 2007.
All Payer Information:
- BCBSKS continues to work on accepting electronic claims for all secondary claims, except for Medicare primary. Secondary claims submitted to BCBS of KS, need to be submitted at the claim level only, 2300 Loop. Currently claims submitted at the 2400 Loop, cannot
be processed.
835 Information:
- With the October 1, 2006 standard system release Medicare Part A electronic remittance advices have seen periodic delays. All EDI clients are encouraged to sign up for email list notification on the Medicare web site.
