Vendor Call Minutes

November 15, 2007

General Announcements

  • We welcomed Wisconsin Physician Services (WPS) to the vendor call.  WPS is the new A/B MAC for Jurisdiction 5 which includes Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri.  The Medicare transition is scheduled to be completed on March 1, 2008.  The best way to keep up to date on everything happening with the transition is to enroll for email notification.  Providers and vendors are encouraged to enroll for notifications at:  http://www.wheatlandsadmin.com/, or http://www.wpsmedicare.com/provider/mac.shtml.
  • NPI will be required on all EDI Enrollment forms received beginning December 1, 2007.  New forms have been posted to the ASK website and all vendors and clearinghouses are requested to download the new forms.  Forms received without the NPI will be returned for additional information.

  • The NPI Registry can be found at https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/NPIRegistryHome.do.

Trading Partner Education

  • Warning and Rejection messages are reported back to the trading partner on several reports.  It is important that all reports are reviewed for Warnings and Rejections.  Warnings will not cause the claims to reject; however, they should be corrected as soon as possible to avoid rejections in the future.  The EDI Help Desk will be glad to help with any questions regarding the edits.  Warning and rejection edits can be found on the Claims Confirmation Report, MCS EDI Edit Reports (IXE extension), and the EDI Midwest Reports.

All Payer Information

  • All batch process are working as expected.
