EDI Midwest Clearinghouse Announcement
After thorough review and careful consideration of all the variables involved, ASK has decided to terminate our EDI Midwest Clearinghouse line of business. This will not have any impact on claim submissions for BCBSKS, Blue KC, or HMNY.
Due to operational and systematic updates required by Change Healthcare (CHC) to reconnect for this specific line of business, it is not in the best interest of our EDI Midwest trading partners to continue. These updates and changes would have a direct impact and would not allow for the flexibility and self-service options that were available to you prior to the CHC cyber security event taking place.
We are sure you have numerous questions about what this means and what next steps look like. Please review the information below.
- All EDI Midwest submitters will receive the appropriate pro-rated refund for the length of time that connections were disabled including any money pre-paid based off of your renewal month.
- System updates to remove EDI Midwest related functionality on the front end will occur within the next 60 days. A more specific timeline will be provided in the near future.
- Claims submitted for EDI Midwest business after 5 PM CST on February 20, 2024 have not been processed and will need to be resubmitted through an alternate method if they have not been in the interim.
- Potential options for submission of claims could include:
- Continuing to use the alternate method you have been using since the cyber security event took place and direct connections with CHC were disabled.
